
We could use channels in the bedrooms (9' ceiling) but the bathrooms and hallway are only 8', so channels would cause us to lose a lot of height and a number of items (sprinkler heads, fans and lights) would have to be lowered a lot. I'm contemplating off adding either 5/8" drywall with Green Glue or 5/8" drywall on top of a layer of 1lb MLV to our existing ceiling to reduce the noise.
